Material (Manufacturer) Warranty
A manufacturer warranty covers qualifying defects in the roofing material itself. It is provided by CertainTeed and its terms depend on the product, system components, and installation requirements. We explain the specific warranty that applies to your selected product.
Workmanship Warranty
A workmanship warranty covers the installation labor and is separate from the manufacturer material warranty. We will clearly explain the workmanship coverage we provide for your project. We do not advertise lifetime labor warranties or imply that every project qualifies for enhanced manufacturer coverage.
CertainTeed Limited Shingle Warranties
CertainTeed limited shingle warranties cover qualifying manufacturing defects in the shingle material, subject to the warranty’s terms, conditions, and proration schedule. Warranty terms vary by product. Read the actual warranty for the product you select.
SureStart Protection
SureStart is CertainTeed’s early-period warranty coverage, typically providing full replacement cost (including labor) for qualifying manufacturing defects during the initial years of the warranty. Confirm the current SureStart period for your product on CertainTeed.com.
SureStart PLUS Enhanced Warranty
SureStart PLUS is an enhanced warranty option. Enhanced warranties are available only when the installation is performed by a contractor meeting the applicable CertainTeed credential and installation requirements. We do not advertise enhanced coverage for a project unless the installing company meets those requirements, and we confirm current credential status before quoting.
CertainTeed Integrity Roof System Requirements
Certain enhanced warranty options require a complete CertainTeed Integrity Roof System, including compatible underlayment, starter, hip and ridge, and ventilation components. Using non-system components may affect warranty eligibility. We verify system requirements for your project.
Wind Warranty Coverage
CertainTeed offers wind warranty coverage that varies by shingle and system. Wind warranty terms depend on the shingle, proper starter and fastening, and correct installation. Confirm the current wind warranty for your selected product.
Algae Resistance Warranty Coverage
Select CertainTeed shingles include algae resistance (StreakFighter) with separate algae resistance warranty coverage. Coverage varies by product and color. Confirm availability and terms for your selected shingle.
Manufacturer Warranty Registration
Where applicable, manufacturer warranty registration may be completed after installation. We provide the information and documentation needed to register your warranty where registration is required.
We do not claim CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster, ShingleMaster, or other contractor certifications unless the actual installation partner holds them and the relationship is accurately disclosed. Enhanced warranties are only advertised when the installation meets the applicable CertainTeed requirements.
